🌿 Electrolyte Elixir: An herbal infusion for Ceremony Integration & Summer

Updated: Jun 24, 2025

There’s something sacred about learning to care for your body after the ceremony. Not just during the dieta or in the jungle-but in your own kitchen, in the middle of a heatwave, when your nervous system is asking for real support. That’s what this drink is about.

Butterfly Pea Electrolyte Elixir
Butterfly Pea Electrolyte Elixir

This Electrolyte Elixir is my go-to when it’s hot, my system feels buzzy, or I’m in the tender window of integration after working with plant medicine. It cools, hydrates, and gently reconnects me to the plants, not through purging or pushing, but through presence and nourishment.

And to me, that’s one of the most underrated parts of ayahuasca integration:

💧Feeding your body in a way that keeps your channel clear, hydrated, and receptive.✨Staying connected to the Earth through the plants that grow near you.🌿Letting food and drink become your way of continuing the conversation with the medicine.

🍹 The Electrolyte Elixir Recipe

This drink is cooling, mineral-rich, and deeply hydrating, especially if your sweating, overstimulated, or just in need of a nervous system exhale. Bonus: it’s gorgeous and tastes amazing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp butterfly pea powder (or steeped butterfly pea flowers, cooled)

  • 4 oz coconut water (rich in natural electrolytes)

  • 2 oz fresh lemon juice (alkalizing + high in vitamin C)

  • 1/8 tsp Himalayan or pink salt (replenishes trace minerals)

  • 2–4 oz sparkling water (adds life + fizz)

  • Optional: 1 tsp honey or agave for a touch of sweetness

  • Ice to serve

Instructions:

  1. In a glass or shaker, mix butterfly pea powder with coconut water until fully dissolved.

  2. Add lemon juice, salt, and sweetener (if using). Stir gently.

  3. Pour over ice and top with sparkling water.

  4. Watch it shift to a beautiful deep blue or violet hue- infused with plant power and intention.

🌬️ Why This Is Integration Work

The butterfly pea flower isn’t just pretty, it’s known for supporting memory, calming the nervous system, and opening the third eye. Pair that with the electrolyte magic of coconut water, the purification of lemon, and the grounding trace minerals in pink salt-and you’ve got a nervous system potion that’s both practical and energetically aligned.

This is what I love about working with local and accessible plant allies:

You don’t need to be deep in the jungle to stay in relationship with the plants. You don’t need to fast to stay connected to the dieta.

You just need to choose your nourishment with reverence.

When we eat (and drink) with the plants in mind-when we tend our bodies like altars, we stay open to the wisdom of the master plants. We don’t “break” the dieta. We live it.

Let this elixir be part of your post-ceremony ritual or your everyday hydration ritual. Make it beautiful. Make it prayerful. Let it support your integration, one sip at a time.
